These insect sculptures are created as a response to our longtime fascination with insect form, texture and color. Each piece is inspired by a living species. Most are larger than their natural counterparts, with the exception of the Goliath and Hercules beetles, which are close to actual size.
Nearly all of the insects are made with glass enamel over hammered copper with chased and embossed textures. There are also non-enameled sculptures that feature torch coloring and patinas over richly textured surfaces.
